Evening Prayer

On Wednesday evenings at 5:30, before our time of fellowship at supper, we gather upstairs in the Parish Hall Chapel for a brief service of prayer. We say the Daily Office of Evening Prayer (found on p. 115 in the Book of Common Prayer).

Evening Prayer, sometimes called Evensong, includes the reading of Psalms and a passage from the Gospel. We say together the Magnificat, Our Lady's Song of Praise. We pray for each other and for the world, and commend ourselves and our night to God's loving care, "that this evening may be holy, good, and peaceful."

You can learn to pray the Daily Office here, or you can come join us to learn the ancient Christian tradition of prayer, praise, and petition that is our daily offering to God.
