Weekday Holy Eucharist

We gather every Thursday in Lent in the Parish Hall Chapel, on the second floor of the Parish House. Here we celebrate a spoken (no music) Holy Eucharist in the quiet intimacy of the chapel. There is a brief homily, and Holy Communion is offered to all baptized Christians who wish to receive it. There is some informal fellowship afterward. This service is a great way to "recharge" your spiritual life during the week by connecting with your Lord and your neighbor.

Usually, our mid-week Eucharist is Rite I, which means it is celebrated using the "King James-style" of Prayer Book language -- lots of thee and thou. Something about the solemn poetry and cadence of those words has a way of moving our heart, and setting aside our everyday language can open us to entering a new and holy space. Come give it a try!

ABOUT US

At the Church of the Good Shepherd, we strive to worship God in the beauty of holiness. We allow ourselves to be formed as disciples of Jesus and grow continually into the image of Christ. We also partner with others to serve Christ next door, in Newton County, and in the world.
